Joy House

This is a house project in Alsancak, İzmir, where art meets everyday life. In the heart of Darağaç, residents turn walls and floors into an open-air gallery, transforming their shared space into an artistic place. This special home is designed for a couple deeply passionate about art, a ballerina and an artist. Their 215-square-meter residence integrates seamlessly into the lively Darağaç community, without the constraints of mandatory setbacks. The design focuses on creating private spaces for the couple, balancing moments of retreat with community engagement. Upstairs, the ballerina’s dance studio is like a live art exhibit, surrounded by large windows that invite the street inside. On the ground floor, the artist’s studio connects directly with the Darağaç residents, fostering a close bond between home and community. Beyond the creative hubs, the rest of the house is designed for the couple’s comfort and convenience. Every detail reflects their lifestyle, making this home not just a place to live but a celebration of art and community spirit
